Why FFXIV Should Implement a Beastmaster Job

FFXIV currently has two pet jobs, Summoner and Scholar. Both consist of summoning 2-3 preset pets to aid in battle to either heal, or help with damage dealing. In my opinion, there is a huge hole in the MMO market for a proper pet class. Most pet systems that worked really well are now outdated, such as FFXI and WoW. Players with a passion for pet classes want something new and exciting. But, I think attempts to modernize the system have fallen flat so far.
So how can FFXIV monopolize on this? I'm a huge advocate of them implementing one of the Final Fantasy classic jobs, Beastmaster. People argue that the mechanics of the job won't work with the way the gamplay is set up, but I've seen some pretty good ideas come out of fellow Eorzeans. Here's a Reddit post discussing some concepts- Beastmaster Class

FFXI focused way too heavily on the pet to deal damage I think, and most BSTs became partial support with a subjob as a White Mage. It was also difficult starting out and having your pet eventually turn against you after charm wore off. However, their taming skill is what set them apart from most run of the mill pet classes with only a select few options. I believe that FFXIV can seperate the positives from the negatives of FFXI and make something new and super fun to play. I added in a little inforgraphic comparing XIV to XI below for fun. I think the comparisons have positives and negatives in each regard, but it's very clear they are very different in terms of gameplay. So overall, my personal checklist for a perfect Beastmaster class in FFXIV would be DPS based, having a taming skill, and balancing out damage dealt between the player and their pet.
